Welcome to Kathleen’s Confections. I’m Kathleen, and I guess you could say baking is in my DNA. Starting from a young age—whether going to the store with my mom to get ingredients to bake for the family; mixing pancake batter with my dad (and him adding his secret ingredient, Vanilla, LOL); or baking with my grandma—I have always enjoyed the creative process of baking.
From high school on, my friends started calling me Martha Stewart and Betty Crocker because they knew coming over to my house meant enjoying an assortment of baked goodies. Over the years—on my journey from vegetarian to gluten-free vegan—I have tinkered and tested my recipes to come up with gluten-free*, vegan baked goods that my friends and family have told me vegans and non-vegans alike can enjoy. For many years they have encouraged me to turn my passion into something I can share with everyone. The challenges of 2020 with the associated need to work from home made me think more seriously about following my passion.
